RBA Design Wins at Pentawards With Fattoria La Maliosa
RBA Design bagged itself a bronze medal within the “Sustainable Beverages” category at the 2021 edition of Pentawards, the most important international award in the packaging design industry. The shortlisted contestants received their prizes on September 30th.
RBA Design’s winning project revolved around the new packaging design of Saturnalia, a 2019 organic wine produced by Fattoria La Maliosa.
This winery is based in the Maremma region of Tuscany, and has always been championing sustainable environmental practices.
To bring out the natural essence of this wine, RBA Design opted for creating a “talking label” that narrates the production process of La Maliosa’s organic wines, following the Corino method.
Another important feature of this design project is the use of block chain technology, allowing consumers to rapidly read all the main information about this product – from crop to fermentation, all the way to carbon footprint data.
Saturnalia’s wine label illustrates the 8 principles of the Corino method. Using clear, modern, and engaging graphics, these guide the consumer throughout the essential principles that are involved in the production of organic wine.
Nicola Mincione was the creative director working on this project, whereas Gianandrea Gregis was the senior designer, and Margherita Niada was the designer.
We would especially like to thank Lorenzo Corino and all the partners who enabled us to successfully complete this project: Upm Raflatac, MGA – Milano Global Advisors, Amorim Cork Italia, Eurostampa, Roedl & Partners, Indaco 2 and Fattoria La Maliosa. Thank you all for helping us create a greener, more sustainable planet.
