RBA DESIGN WINS WITH FATTORIA LA MALIOSA AT THE PENTAWARDS

RBA Design won the bronze medal at the 2021 edition of Pentawards, the most important international packaging design award, in the ‘Sustainable Beverages’ category.
The prizes were awarded on September 30th to the works that had entered the shortlist. The awarded project is the one relating to the new packaging design of the 2019 Saturnalia red natural wine produced by Fattoria La Maliosa, a Maremma agricultural company, which has always been oriented towards the principles of environmental sustainability.
To characterize the identity of this natural wine, RBA design has created a “talking label” that tells the story of the production process of La Maliosa natural wines according to the Corino Method. A further important feature of this design project is the use of block chain technology which allows the consumer to quickly read all the main information on the product, from cultivation, to fermentation in the cellar, to data on the carbon footprint.
On the Saturnalia wine label, the 8 principles of the Method, which, thanks to contemporary, clear and engaging graphics, guide the consumer through the essential principles in the production of natural wine.

The creative direction of the project is by Nicola Mincione; Senior Designer Gianandrea Gregis; Designer Margherita Niada.

Special thanks go to Lorenzo Corino and the partners who made the project possible: Upm Raflatac, MGA – Milano Global Advisors, Amorim Cork Italia, Eurostampa, Roedl & Partners, Indaco 2 and Fattoria La Maliosa; Thanks also to everyone for contributing to a more sustainable world.
